Land Use Planning: The Department of Land Conservation and Develpment's (DLCD) mission is to support all communities in creating and implementing comprehensive plans that reflect and balance the statewied planning goals, the vision of it's citizens, and the interests of local, state, federal and tribal governments. In particular, Statwide Planning Goal 7 requires local governments adopt comprehensive plans (inventories, policies and implementing measures) to reduce risk to people and property from natural hazards. In addition, the DLCD' Natural Hazrds program serves as the State's coordinating agency for the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).
